When I started Apex Rotors, I knew I wanted to create videos that looked great. I enjoyed working with cameras, learning new techniques, and finding different ways to capture the world around me. But the more time I've spent behind the camera, the more I've realized that making a good video is about much more than having the right equipment or getting the perfect shot.
It's about the people, the experiences, and the stories that deserve to be remembered.
That's what continues to push me to grow Apex Rotors and become a better videographer.
Every Moment Has a Story
One thing I've learned through filming is that you never really know which moments will mean the most to someone.
It could be a parent watching their child compete in a sporting event, a couple celebrating one of the biggest days of their lives, or a local organization bringing people together for a cause they believe in.
To someone watching from the outside, these might seem like ordinary moments. But to the people experiencing them, they're anything but ordinary.
That's what I love about videography.
A photograph can freeze a moment in time, but video gives you the opportunity to experience it again. You can hear the excitement, see the reactions, and remember the little details that might otherwise fade over time.
I think there's something pretty special about being able to give that experience back to someone.
Why Central Pennsylvania Means So Much to Me
Being based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, has given me an appreciation for the communities around me.
From Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill to Harrisburg, Carlisle, Hershey, and the surrounding areas, there are so many people doing great things that don't always get the attention they deserve.
We have small business owners putting everything they have into their work, families creating memories, young athletes working toward their goals, and community organizations making a difference.
These are the stories I want Apex Rotors to be part of.
I'm not interested in just showing up, recording a few clips, and calling it a day. I want to learn about the people I'm working with, understand what matters to them, and create something they're genuinely excited to share.
As someone who lives in this community, building relationships here is just as important to me as growing my business.
I'd much rather have someone remember me as the guy who cared about their project than simply the person who showed up with a camera.
It's Not Always About the Perfect Shot
There's a lot that goes into making a professional video. Camera settings, lighting, audio, composition, and editing all play an important role.
I'm constantly learning and working to improve those skills.
But I've also realized that some of the best moments aren't necessarily the ones you plan.
Sometimes it's a genuine laugh during an interview, an unexpected reaction at an event, or a small interaction between people that tells a bigger story.
Those are the moments that can make a video feel real.
I believe professional videography should look polished without losing the personality and emotion that make a story worth telling.
My goal isn't to make every project look exactly the same. It's to create something that reflects the people and purpose behind it.
Building Something Bigger Than a Business
Apex Rotors started with a strong focus on aerial photography and videography, but my vision has continued to grow.
Today, I'm working to build a video production company that offers both ground and aerial filming, professional photography, and creative storytelling for weddings, sports, businesses, real estate, and community events.
I want to continue challenging myself creatively, taking on different types of projects, and meeting more people throughout Central Pennsylvania.
More importantly, I want to build something that has a positive connection to the community.
Whether that means helping a small business tell its story, documenting a local event, or creating a video that a family can look back on years from now, those are the projects that remind me why I enjoy doing this.
I'm still learning, still growing, and constantly looking for ways to improve. I think that's part of what makes this journey exciting.
More Than Just a Video
At the end of the day, I don't want Apex Rotors to be known only for cinematic shots, drones, or camera equipment.
I want it to be known for the stories we help tell and the people we work with.
Every project is an opportunity to create something meaningful, and I don't take that lightly.
I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had so far and excited about the people and projects still ahead.
If you're a business owner, event organizer, athlete, couple, or someone with a story worth sharing here in Central Pennsylvania, I'd love to hear about it.
Sometimes all it takes is a conversation to turn an idea into something worth remembering.
